About Alpha Lambda Omicron

The Alpha Lambda Omicron chapter of Sigma Tau Delta was founded in 2004. Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society, boasts 600 active chapters. For more information about the society itself, check out the official website.

Membership Requirements

Interested in becoming a member? If you can answer yes to the following, you are eligible for membership.

Are you a student at Villa Julie majoring or minoring in English?
Do you have a minimum of 2 college courses in English language or literature beyond the usual requirements in Freshman English?
Do you have a B in English?
Do you rank in the highest 35% of class in general scholarship (B average)?
Have you completed at least 3 semesters of college coursework?
Are you currently enrolled as a graduate or undergraduate student?

If so, pick up an application from the English bulletin boards in the library or contact faculty advisor Dr. Nanette Tamer at f-tamer@mail.vjc.edu.

If you're admitted, then you'll receive an acceptance letter. You will also have to the pay one-time international dues of $37.00 and an optional $7.00 additional for an honor cord at graduation.
